Character Development
Featuring digitally-rendered hand-drawn characters, this piece is an investigation into the elasticity of typography channeled through the use of the first character in my name, "美", meaning "beauty" in Japanese and Chinese. With each iteration drafted, I questioned the boundaries of language, typography, and art, curious as to where this illustration-based inquiry would take me, still ongoing. I invite viewers to openly interpret and imagine what new realities creative explorations of language can form.expand project
